YMMV on other models of tablets/phones, I've only tested a couple and the Fire was the cheapest option. So I got my hands on a cheap Amazon Fire HD 8 refurb, although you can use any tablet you want, and even some Android phones - as long as they have a newer version of Android and use USB-C.
